We were able to get tickets for the 10 AM session of General Conference,
Pastor Pam had agreed to come with us so we had been looking forward to that day.
We woke up to a really rainy morning. Rick dropped us off close to the conference center and with umbrellas in hand Pam and I walked to the doors while Rick went to find a parking place. The doors were not open yet so we took refuge (with all of the other thousands of people) under the eaves close to the doors. Once in we waited for Rick to get him in (because I had his phone with the tickets)
Anyway, we got in and found our seats and enjoyed the wonder of the conference.
The music and th spoken word were beautiful. Pam leaned over to me afterward and said, "I loved everything they had to say." She is a good friend and even though our beliefs may be different I am thankful that her mind is open to us attending her congregation. I am thankful to be able to be building bridges of love, across the religion divide, that is so prominent in the world today. Every person is a child of God and we should love one another despite our differences and beliefs.
PS The WHOLE General Conference weekend was wonderful!
