Grandkids Halloween Party 2019

LOOK AT THESE CUTIES!!

We had to postpone our grandkids Halloween Party for a couple of weeks because of a funeral that we had to get to (for Kelly's mother, Darlene...in St. George) on the originally scheduled date.  The kids were disappointed (and so was grandma) about that but we made it happen just a few weeks later.

Aren't there kids so cute!

We first started with making Rice Krispie treat monsters.  The kids had fun creating their monsters!

Next we had a fun spooky dinner which included...

Mummy ham and cheese croissant.....

a veggie jack o lantern....

...and witches fingers with a bloody dip.

They all enjoyed their dinner!

After dinner we had a fireside story.  It was a little crazy because EVERYONE wanted to tell their own story....at the same time!

Then we had a fun treasure hunt ending on grandma's bed.  There were a lot of fun prizes and treats in their prize bags.  The kids had fun with their google eyes....

...masquerade masks...

....and gross teeth!

We did a little dancing to the monster mash.
Rafe and Henry were NOT interested in dancing!
Although, when we starting dancing like zombies Henry couldn't miss that.

After baths and Halloween jimmies we settled down to watch ALADDIN.  The kids loved singing along with the tunes:)

Bedtime was difficult.  Henry went to sleep right away.  The others.....not so much.
Finally just after eleven o'clock Haivyn (the last one) finally drifted off.  We were thankful that they all slept through the night.  And only one wet their pants!  HAHA!  Good times!

Halloween Party 2019

Another year. Another Halloween Costume Party.
This year's party was hosted by Mary Poppins and her sidekick, Bert.

Aren't they cute?

They even did a special song/dance to "Just a spoonful of Sugar"!

This year's party was super fun.  Most everyone came in costume (of course, Brad and Ruth didn't:(
and looked really great.  We had a "let's beat Brent and Lar'" contest because they always seem to take home the best costume prize.  To be fair we brought in two new judges, Sophie and Britta.

We all formed a line and paraded in front of them with our costumes.  After deliberation they decided that DARLA AND LARRY were the best costumes this year.

They came as a farmer and his cow.

Trent and Kathy came as a little bit older Mr. and Mrs. Darcy.

Dennis came as a graduate and Karen as his crazy student.  At least I think that's what she was...

Brent and Lar came as Robin Hood and Maid Marian.  Really great costumes!
They were good sports about not taking home the grand prize this year:)

Darrell and DeeAnn came as beach bums.

Brad Ruth came as they were.
Always.

We had such a fun night starting off with a soup dinner with appetizers.  I cut back on the appetizers this year and probably could have had a little more.  That's alright though, we had plenty and enough soups and desserts.  We enjoyed catching up and laughing throughout the night.  We ended the evening by playing the "Oldywed Game"  It was a hoot!  We laughed and carried on just like newlyweds and to our dismay Rick and I came in dead last!  We decided we needed to get to know each other better after everyone left;)  Ha Ha!  We really did!

Here's our group shot!  Such a fun night!  We sure love these peeps!

OCTOBER BIRTHDAYS

October was a birthday month for us!  Rick turned FIFTY FIVE!
After working a half day he came home and we went for some bbq lunch at Dickeys.  Their turkey is so good!

After lunch we took a drive up Middle Canyon.  We were hoping to see some beautiful fall color.  Were were sorely disappointed:(  The early frost had already killed the leaves and so everything was a drab gray/brown.  Hello, winter:(

We did enjoy being together and driving around with the top down.  We even ran into a group of wild turkeys so that was fun.

That night we had the kids over for dinner to celebrate.  Rick had requested dinner in a pumpkin so this what we had.  It's always a hit with the fam!

Here's the birthday boy with two of our little cuties, Brady and Daisy.

I had been wanting to make this cake for a month so I'm glad Rick's birthday gave me the opportunity.  It was sooooo yummy!
And I think it turned out kinda pretty too.  Gotta work on my stripe technique, though.

Yup, that's pretty much how we all felt about it!

After dinner the neighbors joined us for cake and ice cream.  I also made a lemon cake as per Rick's request so we had plenty to serve.

THIS GUY!

He brings me so much joy!  I am so blessed to be walking through life with him by my side!

Also, we celebrated these two cuties.  Scout turned five on the fourteenth and Rafe turned seven on the nineteenth.  Kendra had a party for them at the pavilion.  Luckily, the weather turned a little warmer which made it bearable.  Rick also brought up four propane heaters.  That really helped when the sun was going down.

Kendra made a fun volcano cake at Rafe's request.  She had made a cake earlier int he week for Scout.
These two kiddos bring us much happiness!  Rick and I love how they love us!
Our littles are growing up!

...and I had to post this cute picture because isn't he just adorable!
