Phelps Family Reunion 2020

This year's Phelps Reunion was a success!  We originally had it planned for the last week in April but Covid took over and our plans had to change.  As it was, Gary had to work, Kaitlyn had to work, and Alyssia didn't want to come sooo it ended up being Rick, me, Skylar and Sarah and family and Brach and Kendra and family.

We had a great time!  Rick and I picked up Haivyn and brought her along because we did not want her to miss out on the reunion fun!  We arrived on Wednesday evening and checked in to La Quinta (Thank you Superior for the trade!) had dinner and spent some time at the pool then and had a good nights rest!

Haivyn's favorite was the pool!  At first she would not even put her head in the water.  By the time Saturday rolled around and our reunion was finishing up she was swimming like a fish:)  Not really but her skills definitely were improving and she wasn't too afraid of the water and I call that a win!

After a good nights rest we wanted to check out the area where we were to have a picnic that night at Tonaquint Park and then drove over to Hurricane to look at sights at Sand Hollow Reservoir.  We were not impressed with Sand Hollow Beach so we altered our plans for Friday.

Everyone arrived Thursday evening.  Skylar and Sarah arrived around 3:00 and we headed over to Thunder Junction for some playing at the park and splash pad.  The kids loved playing and we even got to ride on the little train they have there.  The kids' favorite was the Zip line.  They played on that over and over!

Around 5:00 we drove over to the pavilion to get started on dinner.  Brach and Kendra arrived shortly thereafter.  We had a nice bbq with hawaiian chicken, salads, chips and cookies.  The kids had fun hitting the badminton around and then we took a little ride on our bikes and scooters on the nice biking path next to the river.  We found a small pond and the kids had fun feeding the ducks and turtles.

Since the Bomans didn't have a chance to play at Thunder Junction even though it was getting dark we went back and played some more!  It was a really fun night and a great way to begin our reunion!

The next morning after breakfast at the hotel we headed over to Snow Canyon for some hiking!  The kids had a great time climbing all over the rocks and playing in the sand!

After Snow Canyon we drove over to Vernon Worthen Park near the temple.
We got some KFC and added the leftover salads from our bbq and we had plenty!
The kids enjoyed playing at the park and the adults enjoyed visiting.

After lunch we had a special treat as we drove over to Judd's General Store, better known as "the candy store".  The kids all got to choose two different candy treats and then we got a couple of their icees.
They turned out HUGE and we made a mess of the place.
(I felt so bad but kids and giant icees equal MESS!

That afternoon the kids enjoyed playing in the pool.
We had a scare with Brady falling into the deeper end and then Chloe falling into the shallow end but thankfully the babies were ok!  Quite scary, though!

That night we enjoyed a nice meal at Chuck a Rama and then took Haivyn, Rafe, and Scout on a little bike ride on the Virgin River trail near the hotel.  Good Times!

Brach and Kendra left early the next morning to get back for Rafe's football game.  We spent some more time at the pool (did I mention it was the kids' favorite!) then we left around 11:00 and Skylar and Sarah decided to stay an extra night!

Good memories made at the Phelps Family 2020 Reunion!
