June 2020

Getting caught up on our summer activities.

In the month of June things started lifting with the Covid 19 restrictions so we were able to get down to Capitol Reef for our annual Memorial Day weekend.  We stayed at the Broken Spur Hotel and the weather was just right for us.

We had the Boman Family along with the Phelps Family join us for this excursion.  Brad and Ruth and Darrell and DeeAnn also had many of their family come along.

We had a nice time riding ATV's, hiking, and picnicking.  One memorable event happened when we were on our ATV ride an stopped briefly for a tailgate lunch.  After Sarah made sandwiches for Henry and Charlie they both sat on a red rock to eat.  After a few minutes Charlie started crying because of stepping on a sticker.  (he had taken off his shoes)  While we were trying to get the sticker out he started freaking out and crying, "my neck, my neck!" Skylar looked at his neck and a big red ant had crawled up onto him and was biting him.  Poor guy!  Skylar and Sarah were worried that it might swell up so they hopped in the Razor and quickly drove him back to the hotel.  Charlie got to feeling better and the kids enjoyed swimming that afternoon:)

We also hiked to the waterfall and the kids enjoyed catching lizards along the way.  They also enjoyed playing in the muddy water!

We had a fun bbq at the Fruita Park.  Good food with some outdoor time.
Unfortunately, the Fruita Store was closed so no ice cream or pie this year:(

Also in June we enjoyed a fun night in South Willow Canyon with Skylar an Sarah and the kids.
We cooked food over the fire....(foil dinners and hotdogs) with some chips and salsa and watermelon.
It was a nice drive up to the canyon and then Charles and Henry joined us for the ride home.  It was so cute when Charles pretended to be driving the Razor as we were flying down the canyon road.

Baby Chloe turned on and she had a little birthday party held at Doug and Leesa's home.
Isn't she so cute?

In mid-June we had a very low attended family reunion (thanks, Covid:()

Pete and Terri's family, our family, and Adam and Cassie and their kids.  Even thought the numbers were low we always have a good time camping and swimming at Cherry Hill!
