Christmas 2019

This year's Christmas Eve Celebration was a fun filled exciting night.  We had every member of the family back at home.  We began the evening at 4:30 with our traditional Christmas Eve dinner with the main staples of chicken and dumplings and tamales.  Everyone added to the dinner with a finger some sort of finger food.  We had pumpkin and cream cheese pies for dessert.

After dinner was cleaned up we went right into our family program.

Brach started us off with a story to the children about Big Tom taking a "lickin'."  The children had a hard time focusing but a couple of the older ones, I believe were able to follow along.  Next, we talked about why the Savior's birth was important to each of us and how we can show appreciation to Him.  It was nice hearing the testimonies of many.  Even the little children shared their thoughts on these two questions:)
Haivyn: "Jesus loves us"
Henry:  "I can show I'm thankful. by choosing the right and believing in Jesus.
Rafe: "If we didn't have Jesus, we wouldn't have the spirit.  The spirit makes me warm inside."

After our thoughts on the Savior the children reenacted the Nativity with Uncle Skylar reading from the book of Luke.  Aren't they cute!

XAVIER, CHARLES, SCOUT, HENRY, RAFE, BRACH, HAIVYN
with DAISY and BRADY in the front.

Something that was funny that happened was when Skylar was prompting the kids on what gifts the wise men brought he said, "Gold" and then the kids said,  "frankincense" and Henry said, "and murder" (meaning myrrh)  Kinda funny mix on words:-)

After the Nativity two different cars full of people headed out to deliver food boxes.
We chose two different families to give christmas dinner to and the drop offs went well:)

Next was Christmas Eve jammies and family pictures.  I love this tradition!

It was a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
                                                  HO HO HO!!
