St. George Weekend

For Christmas Rick bought us tickets for a Brian Regan show at the Tuacahn Theatre.
We made a coupled trip out of it.  We left on Wednesday, April 3rd.   Rick recently purchased E-bikes for us and we thought that would be a good time to give them a try! We stayed at LaQuinta for three nights.

The next morning the weather was perfect and we enjoyed riding our bikes throughout Snow Canyon and into Santa Clara.
What beautiful views!  We rode TWENTY MILES!

In Santa Clara we stopped at the old John George Hafen home.  John George is my great great grandfather.  He was a prominent man in Santa Clara.  It's amazing that his old home is still standing.  I believe it is an art shop now.

Across the street from the old Hafen home is a pioneer memorial.  We rode over to check it out.
We fond this plaque with my other great, great grandfather Samuel Stucki.  Both of these ancestors came out of Switzerland.  John George out of Shertzingen and Samuel out of Rothenbach.
It is neat to think that they settled right here in this community.

That afternoon we did some dealings in the new Red Cliffs Temple.  This is our second new temple of the year.  Saratoga Springs was our first just a few months ago.

The next morning was quite a bit colder so we bundled up and drove over to Washington and found a trailhead there.  We rode for just nineteen this time.  😉

We loved the scenery throughout this ride, as well.
There are some amazing bike trails throughout the whole area.  I love how they are all connected!

That night was the Brian Regan Show.  We laughed a lot and even though we were super cold (wish I had brought a blanket) we enjoyed the evening.

We got up bright and early the next morning to head back to take some friends to General conference.
What a wonderful couple of days we had exploring!
