This Halloween season has been very busy for us. We hosted THREE Halloween parties this year and this one was one of our favorites. It was a crazy night but we have started this Halloween tradition and we can't stop now:)
We invited the five oldest grandchildren for an overnighter. We started the evening with some fun Halloween foods. We went with "easy" this year with a jack o' lantern pizza, some carrot stick 'fingers' and a zombie fruit kabob. The food turned out cute and yummy!
After dinner and before it got dark we sent the kids out on the Scavenger Treasure Hunt. They had fun going to all the different locations and reading the clues until they found their prizes in the fire pit. They loved their funny glasses, spider rings and witch and Frankenstein Legos. Next, grandpa fired up the cotton candy machine and each child got some cotton candy to munch on. The patio fire was then turned on for "scary story time"! Grandpa told the story of "THE TWO HEADS" and kinda creeped out the kids. It had a funny ending and we all laughed for getting spooked out over a HEAD of lettuce and a HEAD of cabbage!😂
Next we went inside to put together their fun new Legos. It took about 40 minutes of concentration but they each got them put together and were happy with the end product! After baths they each put on their new jammies and got settled down for a movie. This year's movie was Monster's University which I hadn't seen in a long time. We had some good laughs while eating popcorn and Halloween candy. All the kids slept on our floor without too many issues (except getting Haivyn to FINALLY go to sleep) and that was the end of the night!
They woke up in the morning with not much time to spare because the party was ending at 9. Grandpa served up some more sugar in the likes of marshmallow filled cereal and we sent them all home on a sugar high!! What are grandma and grandpas for?? Good times!
