Skylar loves to hike up into the high Uintah's and is wanting to make it a yearly trip. This year the guys, who included; Rick, Skylar, Brach, and Brandon, hiked up to Red Castle Lake. It is VERY far but they love the beauty of the area and the bountiful fishing. They left on a Thursday and drove 3 hours to the China Meadows trailhead and then hiked up TEN MILES to get to Red Castle Lake. Brach brought his two horses who carried up the packs and heavy stuff for them. They got to camp about 5 in the PM and set up camp.
The next day they hiked to a higher lake and did some fishing. I think Rick only caught one fish while Skylar and Brach caught quite a few. They brought them back to camp and cooked them up for dinner. They hiked down the next afternoon and got home about 9:00 Saturday night. I think it was a good time for all of them.
