Oregon Coast

A few pics from this years Phelps sister's Oregon Trip.

Newport

Kathy, Jenni, and Karen enjoying the view!

I took this picture to send to Rick.  The ocean is so beautiful!

Here's a picture of all of us that went.....
Ruth, Darla, Me, Robin, Jenni Karen Kathy and DeeAnn

Lunch at Kylos.  Our table faced the beautiful Pacific Ocean:)

A few pictures of the beautiful house we stayed in.  Yes, that's Brad in the background.  He crashed our party.  He and Ruth took the long way home......driving!

My room mate was DeeAnn and this was our wonderful, comfortable bed!
Loved the duvet!!

I'm just sorry she had to put up with my snoring.

Or cute master bath.  That tub was sure handy after a chilly walk along the beach.
The color scheme was so calming.  I loved the color on the wall....a light blue.

Our comfy living area:)

This was a really enjoyable stay.  It was nice to sightsee, relax, read, watch movies, play games, and of course, eat yummy food.

The sister's trip is a great tradition!

John and Kaitlyn's Wedding

Kaitlyn was married to John Riding on March 21st in a small ceremony at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in the Wasatch Room on the 10th floor.  It was a wonderful occasion with close friends and family attending.  Kaitlyn chose purple and turquoise as her colors and we added the peacock theme which fit nicely.  Just a few days before the wedding we found out that Kaitlyn's bishop wouldn't be able to perform the ceremony because he was in the hospital so we were able to arrange for our Stake President, Steve Collings, to do it.  We were grateful that he was available and could get the job done:)  It was very nice!  After the ceremony we stepped out into the foyer overlooking the Wasatch Mountains and took turns congratulating the bride and groom.  After about 20 minutes we were allowed back into the room for the banquet.  We were served Cardamom Lime Chicken with Scalloped Potatoes and Vegetables.  The banquet room looked beautiful decorated in the purple and turquoise blue.  For dessert we were served either cheesecake or one of the wedding cakes.  I say one of the wedding cakes because I had accidentally ordered TWO cakes!  That was an expensive mistake on my part and there is a story to that but all's well that ends well:)  After the wedding party made a few comments the cake was cut and then followed the father daughter dance.  They danced to Rascal Flatts "My Wish".  Then the bride and groom danced to Shania Twain's "The One" (I think that's what it's called) and then Kaitlyn threw the bouquet. (Which her mother-in-law caught. Ha Ha!)  It was a nice time to be with loved ones on this special occasion.  Thanks to all those who came to support John and Kaitlyn on their special day!!

Luckily, it was a beautiful spring day and they were able to get some nice pictures.
Hailee Anderson, my niece, took the wedding photos.
Here are a few of them.......

Happy Birthday Brach

Today is Brach's 26th birthday!  We got to celebrate with him yesterday.  Skylar and Rick decided about a week ago to meet for lunch at Wild Wings Restaurant and invited the rest of us.  We would not normally eat out for lunch AND dinner on the same day (unless we were on vacation, of course)  but the chips just fell where they were and not only did we eat at Wild Wings for lunch but we ate at Braza Grill for dinner.
Brach got to wear hats on both occasions!

We are thankful to have Brach in our family!
Here are 10 reasons I love Brach:

1.  He loves Kendra and takes good care of her.

2.  He loves Heavenly Father and always tries to do what's right.

3.  He is soft-spoken.

4.  He has a great smile.
(His teeth are super straight and he never even wore braces!)

5.  He has given Rick and me a very cute grandson!
(and another baby due in October!)

6.  He is a good friend to Gary.

7.  He has a calming personality.

8. He makes us laugh.

9.  He is a hard worker.

10.  He is good at fixing things.

Happy Birthday Brach!!

I have to throw this picture in as well.....Like father like son!!

Christmas in March

For Christmas I bought Rick two tickets to see Brian Regan in concert.  The concert was last weekend and we had a fun time laughing.  He is really funny!  I didn't get very good pictures...not sure why but it's proof that we were really there:)

Intermission.....

The Energy Solutions Arena was really full.  LOTS of people!  We had pretty decent seats plus the jumbo tron to look at.  Merry Christmas in March!
