St George Trip

Rick, Skylar and Brach had their annual Alaskan fishing trip the week of Labor Day.  Of course the girls don't like to be left behind so we planned our own trip.  Because Henry started Kindergarten this year Sarah did not want to take him out of school so it was just Kendra and I and the kids traveling.  We left Monday morning and our trip went very smooth.   Brady and Chloe slept most of the way with a pit stop in Beaver at the DQ:)

I invited Kathy and Julie to join us but they didn't come until the next day.  I had reserved the "About Time" condo, the same one we stayed in back in April.  It was very suitable for us.
We made it to our condo at about 4:30 and so just after unpacking we headed over to Black Bear for some dinner.  The kids had fun climbing on the rocks before going inside.

After dinner and some time in the pool we had a good nights rest for the next day of play.

The kids came down to my room first thing in the morning as I was looking up some fun things for us to do.  We came up with a plan to go to the duck park and feed them so that was our first stop.

Next we made a random stop at the temple.  I let the kids know that this was a special temple to me and grandpa because this was where we were married.  While Kendra waited in the car with the babies Rafe, Scout and I went to 'touch" the temple and take some pictures.

I love this temple!

Our next stop was Thunder Juction Splash Pad.  I can't believe that we had never been here before!  What a fun placed to play!  There was a wonderful splash pad with waterfalls and dinosaurs.  It was perfect for our little group.  there were other families there but no other adults were in swimsuits.  At one point Kendra embarassingly said, "Mom, we're the only adults wearing swimsuits!"  I calmly said, "that's ok.  We're having a good time!"  I never let those things bother me.  I loved being in the water with the kids besides it was close to 110 degrees and that water felt sooo good!

I loved how we were able to let Brady roam and not have to worry about him falling into "the deep end".  Fun times!  We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed much at Kneaders and then went home for a nap.  That heat really can drain a person!  That night we went out to dinner at a Mexican joint over on Bluff street.

That evening Kathy and Julie arrived.  There were a lot of kids for the rest of the trip!

The next morning we went to the children's museum.  The kids had fun playing for over three hours.   Kathy and I brought in some KFC for lunch that we ate out in the grassy area.

A blurry picture but the kids had fun in the dress up area and playing on the stage.

Our only other picture is of the boys dressed as firemen.

That night we enjoyed dinner at Sakura.  The kids had fun watching the cook make our food right in front of us.  The food was super delish!

Of course, the kids LOVED the pool.  It was pretty much their favorite thing!  I must admit, in that heat it was pretty much my favorite thing too:)  Except for our shopping at TJ MAXX and Ross.  That was a highlight, too!

Good times in St. George.  I just love that place.

Here are some fun pictures of the fisherman.  No pictures of Brach, though:(

Merik and Charlie's Birthdays

We celebrated two birthdays recently.  Merik turned TWO on August 21st and Charles turned THREE on September 3rd.

For Merik's birthday we had a cookie monster themed party.  All of the cousins were invited pus Kalab and Jonnie.  First, the children made a cookie monster hat craft and then we played games.  We all enjoyed digging into Merik's cookie and cream monster birthday cake.

We love little Merik.  While he doesn't say much he communicates by grunting and pointing his finger.  With a little urging (and candy) we sometimes can get him to say a word or two.  He loved having cousins over for his party.

Happy Birthday Merik!

Charlie asked his mom to make a "GENIE CAKE" for his birthday party.  She did a great job!  We joined the Rigbys at Skylar and Sarah's home for a little celebration.

Charlie loved his Mr. Incredible action figure and costume.

Our little Charlie is so adorable.  We love having him live just across the street from us.  He loves to play with the big kids which makes me think he is older than he really is.  He is very smart and full of lots of energy.  He brings a lot of joy into our life!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLES RICK!!
